Precision Engineers Insurance policies are flexible policies designed specifically for precision engineers and cover a wide range of needs.

As the policy is flexible, you can select individual covers such as machinery (e.g. cnc machines, etc.), stock, buildings, contents, public and product liability, employers' liability, goods in transit, business interruption, loss of book debts, and money.

You can also extend your policy to include optional 'add on' covers such as commercial legal expenses cover and directors and officers management liability cover.

The typical perils covered under this type of policy for material damage include fire, theft, storm, flood, escape of water, riot/civil commotion, and impact, however many of our insurers provide cover on a more comprehensive 'Commercial All Risks' basis which also includes accidental loss of or damage to property.

In respect of public liability, the standard limits are £1M, £2M and £5M limits of indemnity. If you have employees, employers' liability can be included with a standard £10M limit of indemnity to cover your legal liability in the event an injury during the course of their work. Machine operators can be particularly vulnerable to injury, however, they can be easily covered under the employers' liability section of the policy.

Products liability is particularly important for precision engineers and covers your legal liability for injury or damage to property caused by the products that you have made and supplied. Products liability limits tend to follow the public liability limits of £1M, £2M and £5M, although higher limits are available if required.

Our insurers will usually offer further discounts for good risk management features, such as machinery guards, personal protective equipment such as ear defenders, staff training, risk assessments and method statements.
