Contractors All Risks Insurance
Contractors all risks insurance policies principally cover the contract works for 'all risks', but can also include additional cover for own plant, hired-in plant, employee's tools and public and employers' liability insurance.
The contract works includes both the permanent works including unfixed materials and temporary works (e.g. scaffolding, access roads, etc.) on site anywhere in the UK, while in the course of construction until handed over by the contractor on practical completion. If required both own plant (e.g. cement mixers, generators, excavators, etc.) and hired-in-plant (e.g. dumpers, excavators, mobile cranes, etc.) can also be insured as part of the contract works cover. Public and employers liability insurance can also be added onto your contractors all risks policy to cover your legal liability for any employees or sub-contractors that you use as part of your work.
